Style Defined

As I was flipping through the pages of Home Companion today I stopped on page 81 to take a closer look at the most fabulous outside pergola with dainty covered table, linen upholstered chairs, decadent candelabra, and of course gorgeous white roses climbing up the pergola to create a natural canopy. I love being outside and this picture is just like something I'd like to have in my very own backyard. On the bottom right hand corner of this page is a rather large print quote that says, "It doesn't matter where something comes from as long as it has style". Quoted by a wise old 10 year old named Isabel. How genius at age 10. Really. We are asked on almost a daily basis, "where do you shop?", "where do you find such cool stuff?", "do you go to the mart"? If we told you all our little secret spots well then they'd not be secret anymore! Kidding aside, we find merchandise in the darnedest places sometimes, which is half the fun of owning a unique shop like the Flea. I remember one time on the way to work I spotted this great old Adirondack set on the side of the road set for trash. Quickly I gathered up Valerie and we went back, pulled over and slid the item into her suburban. Sold that set pretty quick too! Now, not all recycled goods in the store have come from the side of the road, that is merely an illustration, but a true story. When you are always on the hunt like we are, your eyes see things the average driver doesn't! The latest shipment came last week stocked full of the best "new" merchandise we think we've ever bought. After unpacking and displaying we quickly realized that we had created style zones. Below are some pictures and titles of the "zones" currently in the store. You've just got to come by though and see the quality, and decide for yourself, what's your style, defined? Are you "Brocade Style"?
"Coastal Style"?
"Cottage Living Style"?
" Farmhouse Style"?
Or, "Shabby Chic Style"?

It could be too that you find yourself drawn to items in many style zones. I think Valerie and I would both agree that we don't have one set style in our homes, but rather an assortment of styles we fuse together to create a lovely story and a wonderful place to call home. We hope to see you soon!
